Animal Welfare
As sentient beings, animals are entitled to basic welfare rights. CTI is committed to upholding high standards of animal care principles in its non-clinical drug evaluation business. The Company has established an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) to develop clear policies for the daily care and welfare of animals used in research. According to guidelines, the committee is composed of veterinarians, animal testing experts, non-animal testing participants, and public representatives, responsible for overseeing the management and use of experimental animals. The committee conducts comprehensive semi-annual inspections of animal facilities and care management, focusing on ensuring compliance with national standards/guidelines for animal housing conditions and identifying any violations of animal welfare requirements. In cases of non-compliance, the Company implements strict measures such as verbal warnings, written warnings, follow-up inspections, and temporary or permanent revocation of animal handling privileges to ensure the seriousness and effectiveness of animal welfare management. The committee regularly discloses animal usage information, submits annual animal welfare reports to AAALAC, and undergoes external reviews.
